Due to the untimely death of our Worshipful Master, Bro. James Donald Hill, in April 2006, Suburban Lodge held a special election to fill Brother Hill's chair as Master for the remainder of 2006. Brother Stan Robinson, Past Master of Suburban Lodge (2004), was chosen, and we deeply appreciate him for taking the Master's chair during such difficult circumstances, but we know that Bro. Stan will proudly lead us through the remainder of 2006. Thanks Bro. Stan for your hard work and dedication to Suburban Lodge!

My Brothers it is with a heartfelt thanks and a great deal of gratitude that I accepted the vote of my Brothers last night to finish this year as your Master. The untimely loss of our Master, Don Hill, left us all saddened and heavy hearted. I know Don had great plans for this year and he had worked tirelessly to complete the work upon his Trestle Board. As he is missed, and will continue to be, I will attempt to fill in the void left by a "true" Mason. Brother Don always answered the call when there was a job to be done.

With the aid of Almighty God and your assistance, we will continue the tradition of Suburban Masonic Lodge # 740 by being a "Light within the community". The officers of "OUR" Lodge were elected to carry on a tradition and to serve the "Craft" to the best of our ability. Sometimes lose sight of our positions in our organization and need to be reminded of our obligations. I sincerely hope that I will lead our Lodge in the right direction. I will finish this article by reiterating, I was elected to serve my Lodge, not be served.
